Christmas with The McClures!
Christmas Has Never Been Better!
Just when you thought that we had exhausted all of our Christmas content for the year, I went and got nostalgic. When I tell you that we have had the best Christmases of our lives since we’ve had kids, I mean it. Every year, there is something new and exciting that we get to experience with them. We genuinely look forward to the holiday season because of our kids.
This year may look a little different, but we know that it looks a little different for everyone. So, instead of focusing on the struggles of 2020, I want to take a look back at the Christmases of the years past and remember a jollier world.
Let’s Travel Back a Few Years!
The very first Christmas video that we shared with you guys was back in 2016. I had a sit-down chat with the girls about Santa and got a rather beautiful -if slightly screechy- rendition of “Santa Clause is Coming to Town.” You can watch the video here and join me in crying about how grown up the twins are now.
My personal favorite part of that video is Alexis’s retelling of all of Justin and I’s life lessons.
New Brother Means New Pranks
In 2017, we got a little more creative and added the Jers-man to the family! We talked about Santa Justin last week, so if you want to see the highlight of 2017, you can read that blog here! But we didn’t just leave it at scaring the girls with Santa.
We knew that they had been so good and so amazing with their new baby brother, so we really wanted to make that Christmas special for them! Watch the video here to see one of the biggest Christmases we’ve ever pulled off!
Revenge of the Grinch?
2018 was the year that Justin decided that Santa Justin needed a break and in came The Grinch costume. Our kids, even one-year-old Jersey saw through the ruse immediately and caught Justin. But we did have a great opportunity to teach the kids about the story of the Grinch and why it’s important to be kind to everyone.
Of the many stories that come around the holidays, I think it may be one of my favorite examples to show our kids about kindness and acceptance. If you really want to see Justin as the Grinch, you can find that video here.
Christmas Looked a Bit Different…
Last year was the first Christmas in Georgia and yet another prank from us. We gave the kids bad presents before Christmas just to see how they would react, they definitely didn’t disappoint. Watch that video here!
The True Meaning of Christmas!
We are a family who loves to have fun and prank each other, but at the end of the day, we do take the holiday season very seriously. It’s the season of giving and every year we are intentional about giving back to those in need and getting our children involved so that they know how important it is to have compassion for others.
We don’t always show that part of our lives on camera, but we want you to know that it’s a huge part of Christmas for us.
Christmas traditions change – I think we have all learned that this year. But one thing that will always be there is family, whatever that looks like for you. Our family is bigger than we ever imagined because it includes you!
Thank you for sticking with us for all of these years! If you’re new here, welcome to the Mighty McClure Nation and we look forward to spending many more Christmases with you!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Mighty McClures!
